Whites Only Scholarship Creates Outrage

BOSTON, Nov. 22, 2006 — Joe Mroszczyk, president of the College Republicans at Boston University, admits he set out to stir up a hornet's nest when he came up with the idea of offering a whites-only scholarship at the school. But he got a little more buzz than he bargained for.

"To tell you the truth, we didn't see this coming," Mroszczyk said. "The Drudge Report picked it up yesterday, and today I just finished a round of national interviews. It's kind of overwhelming."

All the media attention is focused on a $250 Caucasian Achievement and Recognition Scholarship offered by Mroszczyk and the BU chapter of the College Republicans. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher; they must write two essays; and, here's the kicker, they must be at least one-quarter Caucasian.

The application itself offers an explanation: "We believe that racial preferences in all their forms are perhaps the worst form of bigotry confronting America today."

It is about time someone stood up against this race-based crap. Why is it ok, fine and dandy to have scholarships, etc. for blacks, hispanics and women, but NOT OK, and potentially racially motivated, to have the exact same programs for white persons?!?!?

Who is crying foul now?? Who is seeing racism??

Take race out of everything. If the liberals and democrats truly want a color-blind society, then take race out of everything. Take the question of race off of applications for employment. Take the question of race off of government applications for welfare. Stop mentioning people by their color first; "Mr. Steele, the black republican running for office...". STOP IT !! If you want to have an end to racism then stop pointing out people's race every chance you get!!!

95% of the people in this nation do not care about a person's race. Even when you look at the illegal alien issue it is not about race discrimination. It is about a segment of the population that should not be here LEGALLY!!! They broke the law to get here and are refusing to adopt the American lifestyle. Even many legals are refusing to adopt the American lifstyle that entails speaking english, paying taxes, being self-supportive, supporting the troops, and defending America.

Observing differences is about ideologies. These illegals have different ideologies than those who wish to integrate into our society. Liberals and socialists have different ideologies than those Americans who love our country. That is what needs to be pointed out and highlighted. Not the color of their skin. The color of a person's skin does not make a person. The color of their skin does not determine their ideologies. Their character does.

I am proud and happy that someone has come up with a plan to shove this hypocrisy in their faces. Way to go BU Republicans !!!
